The eighth Dubai International Sports conference has been scheduled for December 28-29, organizers said on Tuesday.
“Empower the future of football” will be the theme of the 2013 conference and is expected to attract some of the biggest names in sport, the Dubai Sports Council announced.
“We are still in the process of inviting some of the top stars in the world of football and once this is confirmed we will announce the speakers,” Mohammed al-Kamali, the head of the organizing committee, said in a statement.
Last year’s international conference hosted top sports personalities such as Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho, UEFA President Michel Platini and legendary Argentine footballer and sports ambassador for the Dubai Sports Council, Diego Maradona.
Since the first edition in 2006, the Dubai Sports Council has given great importance to this international conference due to the role it plays in the development of sport in the UAE.
The conference represents an ideal opportunity for coaches, officials and athletes to learn about the successful experiences in football and other sports.
“It is an ideal platform for learning, exchanging ideas and showcasing the progress made in sports all around the world,” Al Kamali explained.
Previous conferences have debated topics of interest and relevance to the world of football ranging from “professionalism in football” to the “challenges of professionalism” and the “creation of professional sports.”
Every year, the international conference features an exhibition running alongside the event for delegates and industry leaders involved in the ever-growing business of sport.
