Nasr beats Hilal in Saudi Premier League match

Team victorious despite three of its players leaving hours before the match began

Al-Nasr Football Club has won a Saudi Premier League match after beating al-Hilal 2-1 on Monday in the capital’s King Fahd International Stadium.

Eight minutes after the start of the match, striker Mohammad al-Sahlawi scored the first goal for Nasr.

Despite an equalizer by Hilal’s forward Nasser Shamrani during the 75th minute, Sahlawi struck back to score his second goal at the last minute of the game, in a final move dubbed as “exciting” by sport commentators.

Nasr claimed its first position in the Saudi Premier League with 24 points, ahead of arch-rival Hilal, which has 22 points.

Nasr took advantage of the unbalanced performance by Hilal players, and won despite three of its Brazilian players leaving the team camp hours before the start of the match because they did not receive their salaries.

Hilal had a weak correlation between its midfielders and strikers. While Hilal’s players tried their best to score back, Nasr kept up an impenetrable defense.
