David Haye will attempt to set a Guiness World Record for the “world’s largest boxing lesson” during the Dubai Sports World event

British champion boxer David Haye will attempt to set a Guiness World Record for the “world’s largest boxing lesson,” local newspaper Gulf News reported Tuesday.

“Everyone knows Dubai loves a record, so I’m playing my part in making a bit of history and encouraging more of Dubai’s people to stay fit, eat healthy and be active,” Haye said.

“It’s (Dubai) already given me so much and I’m determined to keep giving back,” he added.

Haye, who is due to open his first high profile luxury gym in Dubai soon, will try to break the record during the Dubai Sports World event on June 21.

The “largest boxing lesson” is set to feature technical boxing and movement training, according to the newspaper, and is aimed at raising money for charity.

Each participant will be asked to donate $8 (or 30 AED) which will go to an as of yet unspecified Dubai-based charity selected by Haye and Dubai Sports World.

Dubai Sports World is a sports and entertainment event, which will take place at the Dubai World Trade Center for 11 weeks.
