Manchester City FC to hold major fan event in Abu Dhabi
The club is flying two trophies in to Abu Dhabi for a live screening of the big game with Manchester United on Sunday
UAE-based fans of Manchester City can expect a treat in November, with the football club set on flying in to Abu Dhabi the English Premier League trophy and Capital One Cup it won last season.
According to a press release, the club is flying the silverware in for a live screening of the big game with Manchester United on Sunday, Nov. 2.
The trophies will go on display at a Manchester City FC Fanzone event in Abu Dhabi on the outdoor Pitch 1 next to the tennis stadium at Zayed Sports City.
Manchester City FC captain Vincent Kompany said fans all over the world would be watching the game and that it “is always hugely important to both sets of fans.”
“Obviously we can all still remember winning both of those trophies last season and it was an amazing feeling for me personally to lift them both,” he said.
Manchester City has been putting on Fanzones in Abu Dhabi for several years. The football club also coaches hundreds of young players every week at Zayed Sports City at the City Football School.
The November family event starts at 4.30 p.m. with kick-off at 5:30 p.m. Entry is free for all City fans living in the UAE, with pre-event registration required by emailing email@example.com, according to the press release.
The winner of a half-time competition will be traveling to the UK for a Manchester City game later this season.
