Egyptian Mohammad Salah takes Italian team to victory
Salah scored six goals during the seven matches he has played for Fiorentina
On-loan attacker Mohammad Salah scored both goals in Fiorentina’s 2-1 win over Juventus on Thursday, earning praise from his coach.
The Egyptian winger, who is on loan from Chelsea, scored his first goal in the 11th minute in a counter attack toward the Juventus goal.
His second goal in the 56th minute granted his side a win and handed Juventus their first home defeat in 48 matches.
Scoring twice during the game increased Salah’s goal tally to six during the seven matches he has played for Fiorentina.
Before Salah’s arrival, Fiorentina was unbeaten in six matches. With Salah’s assistance, the team made headway in the second leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final.
Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella was full of praise for Salah.
“Salah is in a state of grace and we hope he can continue,” Montella told RAI Sport.
“He has settled in very well. We knew that he was strong, but honestly his immediate impact has gone beyond expectations.”
