Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois said he was proud to win the Premier League with Chelsea this season in a recent interview with Al Arabiya News Channel.

Speaking to Al Arabiya's sports presenter Liliane Tannoury, Courtois said he was proud to play a key role in helping the blues win the title, just as he helped to snatch last year’s La Liga title while on loan to Atletico Madrid.

“It’s great to have won both the La Liga and the Premier League because they are maybe the best leagues in the world…it’s amazing, I’m really happy and proud of that, and hopefully I can continue winning titles,” he said.

Courtois also praised Chelsea coach José Mourinho and Atletico manager Diego Simeone, saying they are both “strong” and “very good trainers.”

The 22-year-old said Real Madrid captain and goalkeeper Iker Casillas was his inspiration when he first started out.
