The Algerian football association has decided to ban professional teams from buying foreign players starting from the winter transfer market, reports Eurosport Arabia.

The association stated in a press release last Saturday that “this issue deals with foreign players, in regards to the tough money situation and lack of enough budgets in order to pay their rents and salaries. The association has decided to stop relations with foreign players.”

“There is no license to deal with foreign players starting from the upcoming winter transfer window. Foreign players already playing in Algeria can continue until their contracts run out,” they added.

“Starting from the 2015-2016 sports season, and following the ongoing laws, a coach has no right but to make two announcements during the one season.”
