Cameroon defeats Egypt for African Cup of Nations
With only three minutes left before the end of the final, Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar scored the decisive goal
Cameroon has defeated seven-time champions Egypt for the 2017 African Cup of Nations on Sunday night.
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny scored the first goal for Egypt during the 25th minute of their first half before Cameroon substitute Nicolas Nkoulou equalized during the second half.
With only three minutes left before the end of the final, Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar scored the decisive goal.
Egypt were at their first Nations Cup final since 2010, when they achieved their seventh title.
This would have been a historic final for Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary, who at 44 would have become the oldest player to win at the African Nations Cup.
