An Iranian student has had to face questions by the police because he looks exactly like Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

Reza Parastesh the western city of Hamedan went viral on social media recently after pictures surfaced of him on Twitter, with many saying he has an uncanny resembles to the Argentinian football star.

“Now people really see me as the Iranian Messi and want me to mimic everything he does. When I show up somewhere, people are really shocked,” he told the AFP news agency.

“I'm really happy that seeing me makes them happy and this happiness gives me a lot of energy.”

It appears that Parastesh was only booked for disrupting traffic in Hamedan after many showed up requesting to take selfies with the young Messi lookalike.
