Organization of the 23rd edition of GCC Cup is expected to be taken away from Qatar following the announcement Monday of four Gulf countries severing diplomatic ties with the country.
According to a report published by a Saudi news agency, the four countries’ decision to sever relations with Qatar will be the reason behind withdrawal of the tournament from the country.
There were reports that Gulf Cup 2017 could be hosted by Iraq if the FIFA lifted ban from the country.

The Gulf Cup was supposed to start in Kuwait last December or January 2017, but the tournament was transferred to Qatar because of suspension and poor condition of the stadium.
