Egyptian football player Mohamed Farouk ‘Benzema’ died on Friday from a severe heart attack during a match.
Fans who attended the friendly match in the Aba el-Balad district in Minya were shocked when the player fell to the ground during the game.
Reports showed that Farouk suffered a heart attack which dropped his blood pressure and led to his death.
The football player was 33-years-old and was commonly called ‘Benzema’ for his uncanny resemblance to the French-Algerian Real Madrid player Karim Benzema.
Farouk played for Al Ittihad Alexandria Club, Border Guard Stadium, Al-Mansoura, and al-Shams. He was playing for the Sidi Salem Club in Kafr el-Sheikh governate at the time of his death.
