Spacing out: Rihanna reportedly books seat for intergalactic trip

Published: Updated:

Pop sensation Rihanna has reportedly paid to secure herself a spot on the waiting list for the Virgin Galactic spaceship that is set to travel to space next year, reported the Huffington Post.

The artist has reportedly spent $750,000 to secure herself a spot on the upcoming space flight , hoping to take along her brother Rorrey, 23, and a bodyguard, reported British paper the Daily Star.

Other celebrities like Justin Bieber, Paris Hilton and Brad Pitt are reported to have booked seats on the astronomically-priced trip.

British billionaire Richard Branson launched space tourism by his firm Virgin Galactic with its fleet of spacecraft, each capable of carrying six passengers on suborbital space flights.

In September, the company’s spacecraft (the SpaceShip Two VSS Enterprise) and its carrier craft completed a second successful test flight, hitting supersonic speeds in the process.
