International media outlets are raising questions about the Colombian president’s health after he appeared to wet himself during a speech this week.

A video of the incident shows a dark stain spreading across the front of President Juan Manuel Santos’ trousers as he gave an address to a crowd of tens of thousands in the coastal city of Barranquilla.

The president is not publically known to suffer from any illness currently, but the 62-year-old underwent surgery for prostate cancer in 2012.

“I have carried out all the routine exams recommended by the doctors, and there has been an abnormal growth of the prostate specific antigen,” the president said in a statement at the time. “With God’s help, this will turn out to be only one of those challenges we all have to face in life.”

Upon leaving the hospital, Santos spoke to reporters and said the tumor had not metastasized.

A graduate of the London School of Economic and Harvard, Santos was elected president in 2010.
