Video: Iran top general dances to Iraqi beats
Commander Qassem Suleimani was reportedly celebrating the breaking of a two-month ISIS seige on Amerli
A video uploaded to YouTube late Thursday shows the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard’s al-Quds Force dancing alongside men who seem to be Iraqi, reportedly near the town of Amerli.
In the video, Commander Qassem Suleimani is seen holding his weapon up, waving it, and dancing to the beats of an Iraqi song.
The description below the video claims that Suleimani is joined on screen by Iraqi militiamen, who are fighting against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). Almost all the revelers are carrying weapons.
Al Arabiya News could not immediately verify the identities of the men seen with Suleimani.
The reason behind the celebration, according to the video’s description, was the breaking of the two-month ISIS siege on Amerli.
The Iraqi army, Kurdish Peshmerga fighters and Shiite militias, with the reported support of Iran via armament and mobilization, joined forces to break the siege on the town of Amerli and the nearby area of Suleiman Bek.
