Briton goes on trial in Dubai for threatening to dismember hostess
The man is facing five charges including assault on the national airline
A Briton who hurled obscenities at a flight attendant and threatened to dismember her after she refused to serve him alcohol denied all charges at a hearing at the Dubai Criminal court, the UAE-based Gulf Today reported Thursday.
The man, who allegedly called the flight attendant a “whore,” a “monkey” and “trash,” is facing five charges including assault on the national airline, threatening to murder an Indian flight attendant and illegally consuming alcohol.
Speaking about the incident that occurred on June 2, the flight attendant said: “He asked for more alcohol and threatened to hit me in the face, kill me and cut me into pieces.”
“He forcefully pulled me by the blouse three times and I felt pain,” she added, according to Gulf Today..
During the flight, the man who was not identified, was served alcohol 20 minutes after the plane left London and a second time along with his meal.
He reportedly threw his meal at other passengers on the plane and smoked during the flight, setting off the smoke detectors.
He also threatened to destroy the plane, which was flying from London to Dubai.
The 40-year-old passenger ended up falling asleep shortly before the plane landed in Dubai, where police officers were waiting for him.
