Angry passengers force Pakistani MPs off aircraft
The pair delayed the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight for two hours
Passengers on board a Pakistan International Airline (PIA) flight banned two politicians from getting on a the aircraft after the pair delayed the flight for two hours, UK daily the Independent reported Tuesday.
Sen. Rehman Malik and Ramesh Kumar Wakwani, a member of the National Assembly, were denied access to the plane which was waiting to take off from Karachi.
In a video posted online, the passengers can be seen grumbling and complaining about the delay.
As Malik enters the plane, one passenger said: “Malik sahab, sorry. You should go back. You should apologize to these passengers. You should be ashamed of yourself … 250 passengers have suffered because of you. It is your fault, sir.”
While another angry passenger said: “You are not a minister anymore!”
Malik was Pakistan’s Interior Minister between 2008 and 2013.
As far as Wakwani is concerned, he was forced out of his seat as passengers chanted "shame, shame, shame."
Following the incident, PIA issued a statement stating that the delay was due to a technical problem.
