Clooneys soon to visit George’s ancestral home in Ireland
The visit will be the first for the actor unlike his wife who already went several times
Hollywood star George Clooney will be visiting his ancestral home in the Republic of Ireland this summer with his wife Amal, the country’s daily Irish Independent reported Wednesday.
“I've been talking about going there for years and [U2 frontman] Bono has been trying to get me to do a bike ride around Ireland with him,” George told the Irish Independent.
“He probably won't be up for that now, but I'm definitely going to make a visit happen this summer,” he said.
The visit will be the first for the actor unlike his wife who already went several times.
“Amal has been several times, so she can show me around,” Clooney said.
Clooney has many Irish roots, according to the daily.
The couple, who exchanged vows at the seven-star Aman Canal Grande Hotel in Venice, celebrated their honeymoon in the Seychelles.
The ceremony was conducted by their close friend and ex-mayor of Rome, Walter Veltroni.
