100-year-old woman goes skydiving on birthday celebration
Strapped to an instructor, Georgina Harwood said that the experience was 'exhilarating'
A great-grandmother in South Africa marked the occasion of being a century old with a skydiving session outside the city of Cape Town, the BBC reported on Saturday.
Strapped to an instructor, Georgina Harwood said that the experience was “exhilarating.”
The leap marks the third time the centenarian went skydiving, making her first parachute jump in 2007.
“I was much more conscious of everything this time because I had a better idea what I was going to do,” she said after landing, the BBC reported.
In part of Harwood’s quest to live life to the full, the centenarian will on Monday be lowered into the sea in a cage to swim with sharks.
