Lebanese wins ‘Miss Big Arabian Beauty’ award

Sarina Sha’ar tells judges to ‘look beneath my layers,’ vows to help overweight schoolchildren

Lebanese contestant Sarina al-Sha’ar, 23, won the title of “Miss Big Arabian Beauty 2015” in Beirut Wednesday night after competing with other 11 women hailing from different parts of the Arab world.

Sha’ar, who told the judges to “look beneath my layers,” to emphasize that beauty is skin deep, said her mission is to help overweight schoolchildren.

The curvaceous beauty said she was a “victim” of bullying during her tender years because of her weight, vowing to help youngsters.

It is said that Sha’ar enjoys singing jazz, drawing and handicraft work.

She will be receiving $50,000, jewelry worth $30,000 and has won a trip abroad.
