Star couple Brad and Angelina heading to Abu Dhabi
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are expected to arrive in Abu Dhabi in October this year.
Brad Pitt will be arriving in Abu Dhabi in October to start work on his latest movie, UAE newspaper The National reported on Sunday.
The film star will reportedly be spending his first week in the capital with cast and crew of his new film, War Machine, where his wife Angelina Jolie and their six children are later expected to join.
According to The National, the family will be staying at a rented out property - for an estimated Dh73,000 ($19,876.39) a week - that is a short drive from the set of the movie.
A production insider told the newspaper that Pitt often brings his family with him when working aboard, but added “obviously, the children have school, so it will probably be a flying visit, but they are all really looking forward to their time in Abu Dhabi.”
Adding that the family “passionate about getting to know a region, ingratiating themselves with the locals and experiencing different cultures and traditions first-hand.”
War Machine is based on the novel The Operators: The Wild and Terrifying Inside Story of America’s War In Afghanistan, in which Pitt plays a U.S. general opposite American.
He is also co-producing the production, which is due for release next year on the online video-streaming service, Netflix.
The film is set in Afghanistan, but due to security reason, filming will take place in Abu Dhabi to resemble the Afghan desert terrain.
“I’m humbled to be making a big, bold movie about the whole sprawling, complex, cumbersome and crazy machinery of modern war and the many lives it touches” Pitt said when he confirmed his part in the film.
