Reckless UAE driver in Europe in trouble after being caught on camera

The order from the UAE capital’s public prosecution is pending investigation

Abu Dhabi has ordered the arrest of an Emirati motorist over a video showing reckless driving in a European country.

The order from the UAE capital’s public prosecution is pending investigation, according to a statement from the official news agency, which added that the motorist had exposed himself and the lives of others to danger.

The public prosecution states that UAE laws are “applicable to every citizen,” even during travels abroad, who “commits an act that amounts to a crime according to the law of the UAE and that of the host country.

“Investigations found that video clips circulated on social media showed the suspect conducting stunt driving and deliberately making loud noises to attract attention,” the statement from the news agency added.

The public prosecution said that the clip, which was filmed and published by the Emirati citizen himself, had gone viral in social media

''Those who plan to travel abroad should take inspiration in their behaviour and conduct from the commitment, discipline and sacrifice of the UAE servicemen fighting for the defence and dignity of their homeland,” Abu Dhabi’s Attorney-General, Ali Mohammed Abdullah Al Balushi, said.
