Two Arab women have been arrested for allegedly stealing jewelry worth SR5 million ($1.3 million) from a gold exhibition in Saudi Arabia.
Makkah Police spokesman Col. Ati Al-Qurashi said police launched an investigation following a complaint from the shop owner.
The suspects were an Arab woman in her 50s and her daughter, who was in her 30s.
The women bought the jewelry from the shop promising to transfer the money online but never made the transaction.
