Porn star Jenna Jameson sparks backlash for defending Israel

Former adult film star Jenna Jameson has sparked online reactions for her publicly supporting Israel amid weeks of ongoing violence between Israelis and Palestinians.

Jameson, a former webcam model and pornographic actress during the 1990s, recently converted from Catholicism to Judaism in order to marry her Israeli fiancé Lior Bitton.

“Stand strong and defend yourself by all means,” Jameson wrote on Twitter. “I am a very outspoken supporter of Israel... I have family there and it's constant worry,” she added.

Her voices of support did not end there, but also focused on attacking U.S. President Barack Obama by retweeting Republican presidential candidate Marco Rubio who said, “Obama Administration needs to stop blaming Israel for Palestinian terror.”

When asked by a user on Twitter whether she was capable of becoming Israeli Prime Minister, she replied: “I'm certainly capable.”

Jameson recently competed in the British reality television show Celebrity Big Brother, but was evicted on September 22 and was greeted by jeers and boos from the crowd as she made her exit from the house.

She received criticism almost immediately from followers who called her out on her support.
