It seems US action star Steven Seagal did not respond well to a prank by Egyptian comedian Ramez Galal, to be aired on his upcoming Ramadan program "Ramez Plays with Fire."

Seagal reacted furiously to a prank by Galal which saw the celebrity tricked into believing that a skyscraper he was in was on fire.

The American star reportedly hit the prankster in the head briefly knocking him out, according to local websites.

The Egyptian’s show is a popular Ramadan staple across the Arab world and is commonly the highest-rating program.

During the show, Galal tricks celebrities with a host of fearful situations to watch their reactions.

In last year’s edition, reality TV star Paris Hilton was tricked into thinking the plane she was in was about to crash. This edition of the show was surrounded by controversy, with critics saying the joke went too far.

In earlier editions of Galal’s shows victims of his pranks have also been led to believe they were about to drown as the boat they were on in the middle of the sea was about allegedly about to sink.
