Employees of Madinah Municipality are offering a SR10,000 ($2700) reward for anyone who can give information on the identity of a man who tried to enter the municipality building wearing his pajamas after a picture of him was widely circulated on social media.

The photo purportedly shows the man preparing to enter the building, and employees said it was aimed at damaging their reputation.

Abdul Rahman Sultan, a former employee at Madinah Municipality, said they were serious about trying to find the identity of the person in the picture.

The municipality said it was one of their employees, but so far no one was able to identify the man or why he came to the building in his pajamas.

Lawyer Muhammad Saeed said he was willing to file a lawsuit against the municipality for defamation and publishing a photo of a person without his knowledge.

He said if convicted the perpetrator will face one year in jail and SR500,000 in fines.
