Lebanese musician and singer Melhem Barkat, one of the famous veteran artists in the Arab world, has died on Friday at the age of 71.
Nizar Francis, a famous lyricist, who has previously dismissed reports that Barakat has died, confirmed the news on his Twitter account on Friday “that his lifelong companion” has expired.
Barakat, who was suffering from an ailment, had his family rejecting reports that he was suffering from cancer.
