Fog blamed for 25-car pile-up in Abu Dhabi

Earlier reports suggested as many as 31 vehicles were involved in two accidents, both in Al Khaznah area

Fog has been blamed for a 25-car smash on an Abu Dhabi highway on Monday morning, according to local news. The pile-up happened on Al Ain-Abu Dhabi Road between 7am and 8am.

According to police, six people were taken to hospital with injuries.

Brig Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, said: “Our initial investigation revealed that the accidents were caused by motorists who failed to take the necessary precautions when driving in foggy weather conditions.”

Initial reports stated that at least 31 vehicles were involved in two accidents, both in Al Khaznah area.
