Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri refused to shake hands with Ambassador of the Syrian regime in Lebanon
Lebanon’s Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri refused to shake hands with Ambassador of the Syrian regime in Lebanon on Tuesday while receiving political figures at an independence day ceremony at the presidential palace in Baabda.
A video was circulated on social media showing Hariri withdrawing minutes before accepting a handshake once he Syrian ambassador coming from afar. The response was clear in showing his refusal to shake hands with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad’s regime.
Hariri maintains a political stance heavily against the Syrian regime.
