Bana al-Abed, the seven-year-old girl who has given the world an insight into what is happening in Aleppo via her tweets, has returned to Twitter having suspended her account on Sunday and disappearing from social media.

She tweeted: “Hello my friends, how are you? I am fine. I am getting better without medicine with too much bombing. I miss you. –Bana #Aleppo

Earlier, the father of Bana had reportedly sent a message letting users know their family was safe after her account fell silent.

@Mr_Alhamdo, a teacher and activist reporting from inside Eastern Aleppo, tweeted on Tuesday: “Bana’s father sent this message: Our house was destroyed. We moved to another and was targeted also. We are ok now. Thanks for Asking.”

Her online disappearance coincided with the push by army forces loyal to Bashar Al-Assad in the Qatarji neighborhood where she lives, raising concerns among her 200,000 followers.

On Sunday her last tweet before falling silent read: “We are sure the army is capturing us now. We will see each other another day dear world.”

The hashtag #whereisBana trended on Twitter as a result.
