Social media users in Saudi Arabia have circulated photos showing several people in a Muslim prayer room at the top of Mecca’s Royal Clock Tower hotel.
This small prayer room, called a “musalla” in Arabic, is located at an altitude 600 meters above ground level and 500 meters away from the Kaaba.
It is located in the crescent structure of the Royal Clock Tower hotel, the world’s largest clock.
The musalla is in the center of the clock’s crescent, particularly inside the letter “l” in the word “Allah Akbar” (God is the Greatest).
The letter’s diameter is 23 meters. The musalla is considered the closest to the Kaaba which more than one billion Muslims visit to perform prayers.
