To Arab viewers, she became the sweetheart of primetime television. Starring as Sultan Suleiman's wife "Huyam" in hit Turkish series "Harim al-Sultan," actress Meryem Uzerli is one of Turkey's best-known stars internationally.

This week, a video of her dancing at a Moroccan wedding was widely shared online.

She was attending the wedding of Turkish actor Murat Yildirim, which caused controversy this week after some Turks attacked him for hosting a ceremony that was “too Moroccan.”

Yildrim married Iman al-Bani, a former Moroccan beauty queen, in a ceremony that saw the couple wear traditional Moroccan wedding outfits, including the caftan and the ‘Jabador.’

Uzerli seemed to be enjoying herself as she was filmed attempting to dance to Moroccan folk music.
