A video circulating online purports to capture the shocking moment a passenger plane was struck by a bolt of lightning moments after takeoff.
According to the account that posted the video to YouTube, the Boeing 747 was Russian and had just left Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport’s runway.
“The plane landed at Sochi International Airport where ground staff checked the aircraft for damage. An airport spokesman said the pilots had both been interviewed and the vehicle was sent for a technical inspection,” the YouTuber’s description added.
In the video, the plane appears to briefly jolt after being struck by the lightening.
