Is Adele’s real dad a Turkish musician? He thinks so

Published: Updated:

A Turkish musician is claiming he’s the biological father of pop superstar Adele and says he’s invited the star and her mom to his town where he is prepared to take a DNA test to prove it, local website Daily Sabah has reported.

Mehmet Asar, 52, says he’s convinced a woman he had a holiday romance with in Bodrm, western Turkey, in 1987, was Penny Adkins - Adele’s mom. Working at the time as a cab driver, Asar, said he drove Adkins to various places around the area. During this time, he claims, they grew close and for two weeks he said 'it was love'.

After she returned to the UK, he added, the pair quickly lost touch. But he said he never got married and never forgot the time he spent with Adkins. When Adele appeared on the Grammy’s he did some research, which he says reveals he was the star’s dad instead of Marc Evans, who widely believed to be her estranged dad.

He told Daily Sabah: “When I looked up for her family, I was shocked to learn that her mother was the same women I had been with years ago. The woman I loved was Adele's mother, she hadn’t changed over the years.”

He said he noticed that like him, Adele’s third and fourth fingers were the same length. And he said they shared similar singing techniques which he said “could also be genetic". Asar told the website he has no interest in the popstar’s fortune, but added: “I'm from Bodrum and I’m a well-endowed man. I just want my daughter to know the facts.”
