VIDEO: Paragliding attempt in Egypt’s Faiyum ends in disaster

The video was widely shared on social media and showed the moment the kite snapped and many of the student’s friends screaming as it happened

Two Egyptian female students were left with broken bones and bruises after a paragliding ride ended in disaster.

The two college students - Amani and Nouran Yasser - were visiting the scenic desert city of Faiyum when the harness connecting them to the kite snapped, leaving them plunging to the ground.

Now the video has been shared across social media - showing the moment they fell to ground as their student friends screamed as they watched on helplessly.

The Yasser sisters were immediately taken to Faiyum General Hospital after their fall.

Egyptian authorities say they the incident will be investigated after many on social media called for those responsible to be held accountable.
