A mom-of-two says she looks so much like Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie, that she finds people stopping and staring at her in the street, British newspaper the Daily Mail reported.
But Melissa Baizen, 34, leads quite an ordinary life with her partner and two children in Hales Corners, Wisconsin. And she claims that while often critical of her own appearance, the comparison to Jolie has boosted her self-esteem.
“I do get recognized [as Angelina Jolie]. I get stared at quite a lot. I find it funny. It's quite surreal. She has always been an idol of mine. It’s crazy to be compared to her... I've always been hard on myself. Some days I see it but others I don't think I look like her. I wish I had her smile…” Baizen told the Daily Mail.
According to Baizen, an optical manager, although the attention can be “overwhelming” and “embarrassing”, she has always looked up to the film star and her work.
In fact, for the Medieval-themed Bristol Renaissance Faire last year, Baizen dressed as the actress’s character, Maleficent.
But Baizen said the thing she admired the most about the actress was her humanitarian aid work.
“I have looked up to her quite a lot. I like her movies but I admire her the most for her humanitarian work… My personality is completely different but a lot of people say I really look like her. I think I'm probably a bit more animated than her and not so serious,” Baizen added.
Despite the similarity in her appearance to the star, Baizen said she is just a ‘normal girl’ and she said she believes a lot of women strive to be like Jolie ‘a strong and confident woman’.
