WATCH: Heartwarming moment Egyptian mother reunites with son after 29 years

An Egyptian mother was reunited with her son whom she last saw 29 years ago and last spoke with some 10 years ago.

The heart-touching reunion between the mother Sahar and her son Fahad was during the television show "al-Thamena" hosted by Dawood al-Shirian on MBC.

In the video which was shared on Twitter, Sahar said she hasn’t seen her son in 29 years, ever since her divorce from her Saudi husband who prohibited her from seeing him.

Her son Fahad walked into the studio just as she was saying that she forgave him for not communicating with her as the last time he spoke with her on the phone was 10 years ago.

The overwhelmed mother broke into tears and hugged Fahad and accepted his request to forgive his father and siblings who kept them apart.

“I’ll forgive them for your sake,” she said.

30 years ago, Sahar married a Saudi man in his 80’s when she was only 16 years old. According to Sahar, disputes led to their divorce. She said she didn’t get any of her rights following the divorce, adding that her ex-husband prevented her from seeing Fahad after she returned to Egypt.
