VIDEO: Arab Hope Makers award winner brings Dubai's ruler to tears with speech

Arab Hope Makers award winner, Nawal Al Soufi, brought Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum to tears with her emotional acceptance speech in the UAE on Thursday, Al Bayan reported.

Humanitarian Nawal Al Soufi, also known as Lady SOS or Mama Nawal, has devoted her time in helping the refugees since 2015 by alerting the coastguards when the refugees reach the shore and providing them with basic needs such as food and clothes.

When Soufi took the stage to give her speach, she moved the audience and Sheikh Mohammed to tears when she spoke about her firsthand experience with the refugees.

“I am all the people that could not reach the beach shore alive, I am all the people whose bodies are still in the deep waters of the Mediterranean Sea,” said Nawal in her emotional speech.

“The moment the refugees call out “Nawal! Mama Nawal! We are safe now!” means the world to me,” she added.

Nawal Al Soufi continues to devote her time to help refugees overcome their difficult circumstances.
