Spanish woman murders a man and hides him in a refrigerator

A 44 year-old ice cream vendor in Seville was sentenced to 12 years in prison for murdering a man and hiding his body in a refrigerator, a judicial source said.

In a decision dating back to May 29, a woman was found guilty of murder by a court in Seville.

On the morning of June 9, 2016, the ice-cream seller fought with a man and hit him on his head using a sharp tool then knelt on his chest and strangled him using a cable, according to the verdict.

When the police received a report about the man’s disappearance, they searched the vendor’s shop for the man’s body where she hid in the shop’s refrigerator.

The murderer surrendered herself to the police and admitted her crime on the same day.

A witness confirmed that he saw the woman enter the shop with her victim on the day of the crime.

The court rejected the presumption of the self-defense, asserting that “there is absolutely no proof that the victim sexually or physically assaulted the defendant.”
