‘Pure protein’ says Costa Rica’s president after gulping a wasp live on air
For most, swallowing a flying insect means instantaneous sense of disgust. But Costa Rica’s President Luis Guillermo Solis Rivera did not express any revulsion when he swallowed a wasp during a live interview; instead he showed his humorous side.
“I ate it. I ate the wasp,” he said laughing, the English-language QCosta Rica news site reported.
“You don’t see that every day... they’re going to send it to CNN, pure protein!” he added, Russia Today reported.
The president also managed to drown out the aftermath when he was handed out a bottle of water by one of his aides.
Rivera was giving an interview during his tour to Costa Rica’s agricultural area called the Southern Zone, where he was speaking to reporters about the opening of an asphalt plant that he just inaugurated.
