Writing’s on the wall? Strange graffiti on houses baffles Cairo residents

A strange symbol has been appearing on houses in a Cairo neighborhood and has panicked residents, forcing security services to form teams to uncover the circumstances of the emergence of such writings.

Egyptian security forces formed an investigative team to uncover the circumstances of the incidents. Their presence was intensified around these houses and in Rawd al-Faraj neighborhood of Cairo as members of the secret police were also reportedly dispatched to the area within a few hours after the writings were found gratified on houses.

Member of Parliament for the area John Talaat told Al Arabiya that the security services watched the streets surveillance cameras which revealed the identity of five young persons involved.

He added that a security force took action to determine their identities, found their addresses and arrested them, adding that they are currently investigating them to find out all the circumstances and details.

But is there anything to worry about? Apparently not.

Within hours the research team identified and arrested the promoters of those signs and it became apparent that they were group of young people who formed a music band and started to make their own sign and gratified them walls of the houses and buildings in Rawd al-Faraj district. They said their aim was to advertise their artistic work in the fields of "singing, acrobats and magic”.

Investigations have confirmed that they do not belong to any extremist organizations as allegations were spread in this regard, the legal proceedings went on and they were brought before the Public prosecutor's office.
