Dubai Police has said they arrested a gang responsible for carrying out an armed robbery within 48 hours of the crime being committed.
The masked gang of five armed with knives and pepper spray entered a jewellery shop in International City and stole $816,000 worth of goods. Staff were locked in the store’s toilet while the criminals stole from the shop, according to Dubai Police.
The gang members were able to escape from different directions as they left the store.
A special investigation team was formed and details of stolen goods were distributed to all emirates in the UAE, according to a report by WAM news agency.
Three suspects were arrested during a raid in Al Ain, while the remaining two were arrested in Al Ruwais.
