An Ethiopian domestic worker in Lebanon tried and failed to commit suicide on Sunday as seen in a video published by “Wen el Dawle” page on Facebook, while trying to escape from her allegedly abusive employer.
The video shows the worker clinging on to a utility pole while members of the civil defense were waiting underneath, preventing her from jumping.
The worker tried to escape, however she fell and suffered bruises and broken bones, according to the page. She was taken to a hospital in Choueifat to tend to the wounds.
