A massive tree in Dawadmi town in Saudi Arabia has sparked an argument between the Directorate of Agriculture and a citizen, following their disagreement over ownership of the land it’s planted in.
Initially, strong winds uprooted the tree. The directorate then decided to hold a public auction to sell the tree on Monday. An organizing committee was also established.
However, according to Saudi Sabq newspaper, the auction came to a halt after orders from the directorate said that a citizen had filed a complaint. The complaint stipulated that the tree is located within the boundaries of his land, as such it cannot be sold.
Not only was the auction postponed, but the auction committee decided on Tuesday morning to investigate into the citizen’s claim to determine its validity.
