WATCH: The British ambassador in Egypt cooking ‘Fatta’

Published: Updated:

The British ambassador to Egypt John Casson posted a video that shows him learning to cook and serve “Fatta”, the Egyptian popular dish for Eid al-Adha.

Casson said playfully in his caption that every year he learns something new about Egypt and discovers new traditions, talents and meals.

The British ambassador wore his chef gear and filmed his “Fatta mission” with the help of chef Ahmed. "Fatta" is a delicious mix of rice, beef and bread covered in tomato sauce.

Casson congratulated Egyptians and Muslims for Eid in his post, that he shared on the UK embassy’s official facebook page.

He happily said in Arabic “optimistic about Fatta” as he tasted and stirred the Egyptians favorite Eid al-Adha dish.
