Rihanna has shown her support for a Saudi decree announced on Tuesday evening, which lifts a ban on women drivers in the kingdom.
The singer posted an image of a painting on Instagram of a woman wearing traditional Saudi dress, sitting on top of car.
Beside the image she wrote: “Love to see progression. Women will now be able to drive in Saudi Arabia.”
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman issued the historic royal decree granting driving licenses for women in the kingdom as of next June.
The decree also ordered the establishment of a high-level committee of involving the ministries of internal affairs, finance, labor and social development.
They will be tasked with studying the arrangements of the edict within 30 days and to ensure the full implementation of the order by June 2018.
