Mystery of ‘kidnapped girl in Egypt’ who wrote SOS message on 10-pound note
An Egyptian 10-pound note was believed to have a message written on it by a kidnapped girl in the country.
Facebook users have been sharing pictures of the note with text, an SOS message, written in Arabic. It says: “I am kidnapped in an apartment," she then gave the precise location.
“My name is Jana Shawkat,” she concluded, signing the bill.
Detectives from the police department in Al-Aajouza made their way to this address, an Egyptian security official said.
But investigation reports show that the apartment is owned by a lawyer, which she and her son live in, and there has been no report of an abduction in the area. The message remains a mystery.
