Woman jailed for biting Dubai police officer in attempt to run away

A Ugandan woman who bit a Dubai Police officer in October of last year has been sentenced to six months in jail

The 24-year-old bit the police officer’s wrist after she was asked for her ID during his patrol in Deira.

The National quoted the policeman saying: “We suspected in the woman, who was walking down the street, and approached her. We showed her our IDs and then asked for hers, but she refused to show us any documents and ran away.”

After investigation at the Dubai Criminal Court, it appeared that the woman was living in the country illegally.

She will be deported after completing her detention period.
