The Dubai Police and UAE-based Make A Wish Foundation turned the wish of an eight-year-old boy into reality where he became a policeman for a day.
The UAE national, Saif al-Ketbi, got dressed up in the full Dubai Police uniform and took a tour of the different police departments and luxury cars used by the force. Coincidentally, his father is also a policeman, according to Khaleej Times.
This comes as part of Dubai Police’s community work, where they support the Make A Wish Foundation in order to make “many ailing children’s dreams come true”, Major General al-Marri, assistant commander-in-chief of Community Affairs and Equipment, told the newspaper.
“Turning the wishes of children with serious or chronic diseases into a reality brings joy to their lives, positively raising their spirits and encouraging them to continue with their normal lives,” he said.
“It also brings happiness to their families during the long and difficult period of medical treatment,” al-Marri added.
The CEO of Make A Wish Foundation UAE, Hani al-Zubaidi, told Khaleej Times that these initiatives are in line with the Year of Zayed 2018 and the Year of Giving.
