Meet Sabir Khan, a visually impaired man from central India’s Madhya Pradesh state, who has never lost a goat. Khan uses a high pitched call to control his herd of goats.
Ten years ago, he had two goats and joined a social inclusion program for visually challenged people. The program run by an NGO who helped his rearing business.
Today, he has 30 goats and plans to add more to the herd. “When I call them they call come and gather around me,” Khan said adding that toward the evening, he uses a certain pitch in his voice to call his goats.
Sabir Khan’s fellow shepherd said he has a trained goat. “He puts it on leash. Others follow suit”, he said.
