A woman went into labor while being stuck in notorious Sharjah traffic in the UAE, but Sharjah police quickly came to the rescue upon receiving a call from her husband.
According to the National, the couple were en route to the Zulekha Hospital after the woman went into labor early Thursday morning.
Upon receiving the call for help, the department of traffic and patrols in Sharjah sent a patrol car to the location and issued an immediate order for other vehicles to clear the roads for them to lead the couple to the hospital safely.
Sharjah Police released a video of the incident and interviewed the woman’s husband who said that the patrol car arrived within two to three minutes of his call.
“He came very fast and very efficiently and supported me, my wife and my baby,” the man said in the video.
An officer called the hospital on their way there so they can prepare an emergency room for the woman, the newspaper reported.
The new father said that his wife delivered safely and her and the baby are doing well.
